2008 Tech Museum Awards calls for nominations from innovators from around the world

The Tech Museum Awards is an international Awards program that honors innovators from around the world who are applying technology to benefit humanity. Nominate your organization or a partner! The deadline for nominations has been extended until April 7, 2008.

The goal of the Tech Awards is to showcase compelling stories and reward innovators accomplishments to apply technology to benefit humanity. The Tech Awards program inspires global engagement in applying technology to humanity's most pressing problems by recognizing the best of those who are utilizing innovative technology solutions to address the most urgent critical issues facing our planet. People all over the world are profoundly improving the human condition in the areas of education, equality, environment, health, and economic development through the use of technology. .

Each year, candidates are nominated and then invited to submit applications. This years innovations from around the world will be recognized in the categories of Environment, Economic Development, Education, Health, and Equality. The Award categories are based on the fifteen Global Challenges identified in the State of the Future report, published by the Millennium Project of the American Council of the United Nations University.

Tech Awards 2008

25 Laureates will be honored at a Gala event on November 12, 2008 and five Laureates will share a cash prize of $250,000. Successful candidates address universal human needs through cutting-edge breakthroughs or innovative applications of existing technologies.

Self-nominations are accepted and encouraged. Individuals, nonprofit organizations, and for-profit companies are all eligible. Reward those making a difference and nominate today at:
