NeBI to Host Series of Capacity-Building Workshops for Small Businesses

The National e-Business Incubator Project is an initiative of the Government of Dominica, funded by the European Union (EU), and is being implemented by the University of Technology in Jamaica

The National E-Business Incubator (NeBI), in collaboration with the University of Technology Jamaica, will host a series of training workshops during February-April 2009 for developing the capacity of small businesses. Training will provided in areas including ICTs, Marketing, Human Resource Management, and small business Legal Requirements. NeBI is a member of infoDev's Global Network of Business Incubators.

The initiative presents an opportunity for Dominican Entrepreneurs and their staff to build their skills and knowledge sets in the areas of Information and Communication Technology, Marketing, Human Resource Management and the Legal requirements of establishing and operating a successful business. Training modules will be delivered by expert Faculty of the University of Technology and include courses such as:

  1. Introducing Computers for Businesses
  2. Computer Applications for Businesses
  3. Introduction to Human Resource Management
  4. Supervisory Management
  5. Financial Management
  6. Marketing & Sales Management
  7. Quality Management
  8. Customer Service
  9. Legal Aspects of Small Business Development
  10. Negotiation Skills

In addition to the training workshops, the NeBI will also roll out its Business Planning and Financial Representations services during the period.
