Carried out by Parque Tec, the first software incubator in Costa Rica and a member of infoDev's Global Network, the publication analyzes ventures in the Central America region with the same baseline methodology. The research supports policymakers and multilateral organizations in enhancing their approach towards entrepreneurship in the region.
Carried out during 2009, the "Diagnosis of the entrepreneurship situation in Central America” was financed by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration with the cooperation of the German Development Bank. It is the first attempt to analyze ventures in the entire Central America region (Panama, Costa Rica , Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Belize and Guatemala) with the same baseline methodology. The research took place simultaneously throughout the region, gathering data and allowing a future benchamrk analysis on the entrepreurial process between countries in Central America. The research will help policymakers and multilateral organizations to enhance their approach towards entrepreneurship in the region.

The Asociación Incubadora Parque Tec is a non-profit association found in 2004.
