Assignment Title: 1004258 - Agribusiness Incubation: Good Practice Assessment and Training Module
ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION
The Global Good Practices Assessment on Agribusiness Incubation should yield a report for developing countries looking to stimulate value added agribusiness SMEs. It should compare business incubation to other means of promoting the creation and growth of value added agribusiness SMEs and clearly specify lessons learned and good practices based on an assessment of mature agribusiness incubators in developing countries. The assessment could be done by assessing 7 mature good practice business incubators and technology parks in developing countries. In addition, a country assessment could be carried out in Nigeria which has several agribusiness incubators. The final deliverables include a summary report with the following Annexes: 7 Business Incubator Case studies, 35 SME success stores, assessment of the readiness of the SME successes and the incubators for internationalization. The 3 fifteen minute video case studies should be of incubators and incubatees illustrating the potential and process of agribusiness incubation. They should be in a similar style to infoDevs past business incubator case studies produced by All Rise Films Inc.
The agribusiness incubation training module should be an effective "how to" course for business incubator managers and stakeholders interested in designing a new agribusiness incubator or strengthening an existing one. The training module should consist of a Trainer and Trainee manual, as well as a set of slides, following the same standard as infoDev's existing business incubation training materials. A 3-day pilot training to 20-30 members of infoDevs community of agribusiness incubators should be provided as part of this deliverable. The training should take place in a central location in Africa. The consulting firm would be responsible for all logistics pertaining to the training as well as paying for the Economy Fare tickets and hotel costs for 20 African participants.
