infoDev and the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) have begun to release draft country reports from the on-going Survey of ICT and Education in Africa, a comprehensive study surveying the current landscape of ICT in education initiatives in Africa. Working with teams of country and regional researchers and in collaboration with numerous partner organizations, infoDev and COL are attempting to gather together in a single omnibus resource the most relevant and useful information on ICT in education activities in Africa.
The first draft country profiles to be posted are from Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda. A working bibliography of resources related to ICT use in education in Africa is also available.
Over the coming eight weeks, draft country reports will be posted on the WikiEducator web site at http://www.wikieducator.org/ICT4AfricaEd/Country_Reports for public review and comment. (A "wiki" is a collaborative website whose content can be edited by anyone who views it.)
Final country reports, together with a series of short thematic surveys, will be posted later this year.
More complete background on this project is available on the related project page on the infoDev web site.
