UNESCO has done some good work related to EMIS. Notable publications include:
UNESCO's "OpenEMIS" software is a generic tool designed by its Division of Educational Policies and Strategies. It is issued without condition or restriction for use by all those who wish to adapt it to the features and information needs of their national education system in order to build an Education Management Information System.
