Much of the emphasis on climate change has been on urging countries to act to avoid environmental catastrophe. This new report frames responding to climate change as an extraordinary economic opportunity, particularly in developing countries. The report, published by infoDev, a global innovation and entrepreneurship program in the Bank Group’s Trade & Competitiveness (T&C) Global Practice, recommends actions by the public and private sectors to foster the growing market for SMEs in the clean technology sector.

It offers hands-on examples, such as financial worksheets, application forms, term sheets, contracts, and checklists that may be used as templates. The publication is a substantial update of the original Kauffman Foundation’s 2004 guidebook, which targeted a U.S. audience. This international edition is written specifically for newcomers to angel investing, and highlights the successes and challenges of angel groups in emerging and frontier markets.

infoDev publishes a new report that analyzes the effects of the delivery of its Agribusiness Incubation training module to a total of 149 people from 25 countries in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America. The delivery of the training has proven successful in conveying the fundamentals of agribusiness innovation, as well as exposing trainees to the variety of business models that exist and can be explored. Participants emphasized the acquired knowledge on value chains and how this understanding transformed their activities inside their organizations.
