The 24 semifinalists will receive hands-on business mentorship from one of eight local tech community partners that will serve as international landing pads for each other’s startups—an exciting new model for our network of incubators.

The semifinalists include apps from Africa, the Caribbean, and Eastern Europe and Central Asia. A panel of mobile and business experts picked them out of an impressive pool of 113 submissions from 19 countries.

VentureOut will announce the 12 finalists on October 2. The finalists will then meet with internationally based mentors in preparation for a Dragon’s Den pitching contest in Moldova in October 30-November 1.

Additionally, one entrepreneur will be selected to attend TechCrunch’s Disrupt Europe event in Berlin in October 28-29.
