As part of the Creating Sustainable Businesses in the Knowledge Economy program, which supports mobile entrepreneurs in Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe, infoDev is pleased to invite women involved in mobile technologies to a special, informal networking sesson. This session is held in partnership with the Government of Finland and Nokia, and implemented with the assistance of organizations like AkiraChix, who have been crucial in identifying the challenges in the field that most impact women.
The evening will start with brief introductions by:
Helen Keegan, London's best Mobile Social Networker (@technokitten)
Karen Barber, formerly of Audioboo (@KLBarber)
Sanyu Kiruluta, RIM's EMEA developer team lead
Belen Barros Pena, Information architect, interaction designer and user researcher
Georgina Mackenzie, Toytek (@toytek)
Chris Locke, GSMA Development Fund Managing Director (@GSMAmWomen)
Maja Andjelkovic, infoDev (@infoDev)
The remainder of the evening will be devoted to informal conversations among participants, with a short wrap-up of 3-5 issues identified as major barriers, and an invitation to continue the conversations.
