The Launch to be held in Freeport, Trinidad, will gather close to one hundred stakeholders in the fields of clean energy and climate technology, as well as senior representatives from the World Bank and the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development of Canada.
Supported by the World Bank Group and its global entrepreneurship program infoDev, and by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development of Canada, the Center has been established as a consortium managed by the Scientific Research Council (SRC) based in Jamaica and the Caribbean Industrial Research Institute (CARIRI) in Trinidad and Tobago. The goal of this innovative regional hub is to create institutional capacity to support Caribbean entrepreneurs committed to developing locally appropriate solutions to climate change. To do so, the CCIC will provide local new ventures and SMEs with a broad range of services, including financing, business training, network building opportunities and policy support.
The CCIC launch event on January 27 is open to the media and will be live-streamed through http://www.cariri.com/new/index.php/ccic-launch
