Four years after its launch, the center has successfully supported over 130 companies, created more than 1,400 new jobs, and helped 80 start-up businesses progress from ideation to marketing stage. Most importantly, the center continues the important work of creating a robust private sector, while gearing up Kenya’s fight against climate change.
The KCIC was developed by the infoDev's Climate Technology Program with the support of the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) and the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development (DFID). Since 2012, the program has established similar centers in the Carribean, Ethiopia, Ghana, Morocco, South Africa, and Vietnam.
